About Chi Park

Hi all and welcome. I would by no means call myself an "industry expert" in mobility, but I do like to get my voice heard from time to time. So I figure, why not here?

Thanks,
Chi

Wake up, and smell the smartphones.

Your coffee and laptop will soon be forgotten. Instead of grabbing a cup of coffee while checking email when you wake up, consumers are now able to get the job done dually with their smartphone. Smartphones have not only taken over the technological world, but also the lives of millions.  The rapid expansion and convenience of smartphones are changing the necessity of owning a laptop device because consumers are able to access virtually any information through their smartphones. Studies show that 49.1 million people in the United States own smartphones, an 8.1% increase from February 2010. Smartphone unit prices, averaged $151 in Q1 2010, which is a 3 percent decrease over the previous year, but it’s a no brainer why consumers are attracted to the versatility of this device; more technology means more options and more convenience.

Each day, these smartphone devices are advancing, and mobile operating systems are battling it out to keep up with the demand of customers and deliver satisfaction.  The iPhone OS has remained the number one choice of major mobile operating systems. But the number of Android based devices sold recently, has enabled Androids OS status to surpass its third place to second place, within a matter of months. The productivity brought into the retail workforce today by smartphones, makes it an inevitable choice over regular mobile phones. It boosts productivity and maximizes efficiency not only in the workplace, but worldwide.
